Vancouver, Fresh Air, Firs and Fishing

Of course we timed this very well - 24hours of travelling and a 12 hour time difference too - jet lag from hell to say the least. Surprisingly enough, Jess was awake (more or less) to open her birthday presents..

Not waiting around for jet lag, Aaron, Jess and I headed out for a walk at 9.00am - having been awake for a few hours already - to Buntzen Lake.

And Jess saves a tree..

We walked around to the beach and where there was a stunning view down the lake… how could anyone not love this?

A couple of days later we return for another walk - this time with Ben.

And to go fishing.

Oops - you never guess who forgot the fishing licence - which I thought about afterwards. Ben loved it and was very content to sit there watch and wait. I think we may have found him a hobby.

But the fish weren’t biting - not for sweetcorn or brightly coloured plastic worms.

Instead of catching our own we headed down to Steveton and had some real fish and chips, followed by ice cream on the pier front as the sun went down.

And Jess took this photo of me - how can you tell - the shadow or she’s being a teapot. The other head is Aaron’s.
