Finally I find myself back in Nepal after about 11 years or so. When I came previously it was to do a quick shoot on white water rafting, which was great fun, and is something I want to do properly at some stage. Nepal left a huge impression and I have always wanted to return.
Our story this time will be to explore the situation between the King who has suspended parliament and taken rule, the Maoists and political parties, for a new show that we will be launching soon It will give us more time to explore stories than the usual 2 mins - which is great!!
On the evening of our arrival we are asked to dinner by the brother of a friend of Kathy’s who is Nepalese. A formal invitation is even waiting for us at the hotel!! What an evening, good food & drink and conversation with ex 2nd in charge of the armed forces, publisher, banker, entrepreneur, and media mogul - Amar - who turns out to know everyone !! All finished with a cigar and talk of who will win INXS:Rockstar, with the best being we are going to film the King the next day on a Royal walkabout.
All these guys went to the same school St Xavier’s and consider themselves class mates even though there are a few years between them. A very highly recommend school by all accounts too. Class mate total - 5
