Just Camping and Stuff

Its wash day… and all is quiet.

10-07-france-holiday-76

Well where else would you put the hammock.

10-07-france-holiday-70

Doesn’t seem to have bothered Jess though.

10-07-france-holiday-71

Meanwhile Ben muses.

10-07-france-holiday-73

Enough with the musing – its table tennis time.

10-07-france-holiday-84

Ben with the ball stuck to his hand.

10-07-france-holiday-80

Amazing huh Jess.

10-07-france-holiday-87

And now back to the table tennis.

10-07-france-holiday-83

Ben – looking suspiciously like Aaron.

10-07-france-holiday-89

Now that I’m exhausted its my time in the hammock.

10-07-france-holiday-91

What do you mean I’m on the ground. Laughing – huh! I’ll show you, just let me get out of this thing.

10-07-france-holiday-93

Boing – ok, ok so it works properly for Ben.

10-07-france-holiday-95

And time to play with fire in the BBQ.

10-07-france-holiday-98

Whilst thats warming up how about a nice shot of the sky.

Chartres Cathedral

I think you can tell when I’m not working as there is no photo of the front of this magnificent building. Oh well – we’ll start inside then.

10-07-france-holiday-44

Moving faster than the background – for a change

10-07-france-holiday-46

The inside was magnificent with a stone path maze on the floor – an amazing frieze around the back of the choral / altar area depicting the life of Jesus.

10-07-france-holiday-48

Not to mention the ceiling – recently cleaned. You can see the difference of removing 800 odd years of candle soot.

10-07-france-holiday-50

Candles and flowers.

10-07-france-holiday-51

The windows were the most spectacular things though – absolutely huge and very very intricate with magnificent colours.

10-07-france-holiday-58

Jess being hit by a beam of light coming through the window

10-07-france-holiday-60

Outside watching us have our baguette lunch a bronze statue of an old bishop.

10-07-france-holiday-65

Like the statue Ben can’t move fast enough and is caught saying ‘hey’!!

10-07-france-holiday-66

Day 1 in Huttopia

Out into the Senonches forest for a bike ride – Ben tries to get out of shot.

10-07-france-holiday-27

Jessica arrives eventually on her very heavy and too small bike – which is impossible to change gears on… True – I tried.

10-07-france-holiday-29

Back towards the camp we find a little jump and I try my best to get air.

 10-07-france-holiday-31

Jess tries too – but as the bike weights more than mine…. good effort though.

 10-07-france-holiday-33

Back in time for tea. Pasta and sauce with bacon bits.

 10-07-france-holiday-35

Just so the rest of the kitchen doesn’t get jealous… a picture of that too.

10-07-france-holiday-36

OK so here’s the washing area as well. Got to be fair after all.

 10-07-france-holiday-37

And to finish the day – Jess muses by the lake as the sun goes down.

Getting to Huttopia

Off to France we go saying good-bye to the white cliffs of Dover.

10-07-france-holiday-10

To pass the time Ben starts with dominos.

10-07-france-holiday-3

All lined up and ready to fall.

10-07-france-holiday-6

Meanwhile Jess reads…

10-07-france-holiday-9

Finally with the car and trailer loaded its time to drive off the ferry and on to the wrong side of the road.

10-07-france-holiday-17

Four hours later we arrive at Senonches Huttopia, find our pitch and unload the trailer.

10-07-france-holiday-20

And lay out the tents ready for building.

10-07-france-holiday-21

One done, two to go.

10-07-france-holiday-23

Seems very clean at the moment… but finally they are all up and we are starving but have no food!!

10-07-france-holiday-24

Being holiday season in France all the restaurants in Senonches are closed and we find a pizzeria open in La Loupe about 10 km away. Bring it back – and demolish them.

Madbull in Full Flow…

Ben driving – and despite what it looks like the car made it home in one piece.
