NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC ADVENTURE NAMES ROB GAUNTLETT AND JAMES HOOPER 2008 ADVENTURERS OF THE YEAR
WASHINGTON (Nov. 20, 2008)—National Geographic Adventure magazine has chosen British schoolmates Rob Gauntlett, 21, and James Hooper, 21, as 2008 Adventurers of the Year in recognition of their epic 394-day, 26,000-mile madcap dash from the north geomagnetic pole to the south geomagnetic pole using only human and natural power. Skiing, dog-sledding, cycling and sailing their way from northern Greenland to the Antarctic's Southern Ocean in one continuous run, the pair completed the first-of-its-kind pole-to-pole journey in an effort to raise climate change awareness and to inspire the human spirit.
Guess I need to role out the red carpet then!!

Ben's Mushroom Risotto
Here's the recipe to make my world famous Mushroom Risotto, starting with the ingredients:
350g Rice
1x Medium Onion
1x Red Pepper
1l Chicken Stock
2x Garlic Cloves
300g Bacon Lardons
Butter
Olive Oil
Seasoning
1/2 tsp Crushed Chillies
1/2 tsp Mixed Herbs
And not forgetting the Mushrooms
First weigh out the rice.
Wash, slice and chop the mushrooms.
And the onion too.
Peel and crush the garlic.
Put a knob of butter and splash of olive oil in the pan. Add the garlic and then the onion and red pepper.
Cook gently until the onion become translucent, stirring occasionally.
Season with salt and pepper, add a few crushed chillies and some mixed herbs. Then add the rice and fry until clear.
Add the chicken stock. Bring to a gentle simmer and cover letting the rice absorb all the liquid.
Leave a guard to make sure that no one nicks any while its cooking.
Which means there's time for a quick game on the Wii.
Not long and its all done and ready to serve.
Yes - tasty, very very tasty!
